Our hotel was at the Neubaugasse stop for the U-Bahn and the terminus was at Simmering so it was just so easy to get the U-Bahn there on our last day and wait for the train. I imagine it would have been much more difficult to find the platform at the main Vienna rail station but at Simmering there were only two platforms.
